Meet Janine
Hi! I’m Janine Vyas! I’ve worked in radio, television and primarily, digital advertising for over 20 years. I’ve spent the last 17 years at Google in various roles across sales, strategy, training and coaching. For part of my career, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who I was at work. As a native New Yorker, my personality is outgoing and candid. I love nothing more than to talk about food and family, and to connect over something in common with someone or learn about someone’s experience that is completely different from mine.
But at work, sometimes I felt as though these attributes should be stifled. Could I be perceived as professional, as well as being comfortable enough to ask clarifying questions? Could it be taken seriously, and still start a meeting by telling folks I spilled coffee on myself way to the office? Or ask my client how their morning went, when my counterparts were barely taking a breath before just diving right into their pitch?
It took me a while to realize that a lot of my driving forces are based on my empathetic nature. And once I realized that, things started to click and I began to bring my whole self to all my projects.
I define my style as ‘empathetic connection’. Empathy at work is so important because, let’s face it – we’re all human!
A lot of empathy comes from understanding motivations. If you can uncover what ignites someone, you can connect and move mountains.
I’ve been servicing my clients for over 20 years with this underlying sense of connection and empathy. It’s allowed me to help identify the aspirations, strengths and fears of my stakeholders. It has helped me to understand the true goals of my partners. And I’m most proud of the way it’s allowed me to connect with attendees of my workshop, my coaching mentees and thousands of others to help grow careers and increase well being. I’ve certainly learned from a few mistakes here and there, but I have a wealth of experience and knowledge that I would love to bring to your team!
